    Very interesting video, Jorge.

As it can be seen, students read texts using visual and auditory modes so later they can generate their own message taking into account the social context. Literacy practices imply more than printed texts, nowadays students communicate through different modes and the institutions provide the environment to do so.

I think the video is an excellent example of multimodality and how teachers interact with different modes at particular literacy events.

Jorge this video was a wonderful way to teach our culture, and at the same time it gave the students the opportunity to learn through the music. And also It is a big challenge for you, Let me congratulate for that, because I think this kind of exercise to motivate the foreign students interests is not easy, it require the ability to encourage the student’s attention to carry up the complete activity. In the video I could see that the students understood some differences with the cultures and they gave their own point of view about it.

Hi George, let me congratulate you because you did a great job, combining audiovisual materials and what better way to show a part of out culture through the use of music. You combined the music video, with a written task, giving your students to express themselves and to write about what they think about our country. It is a wonderful way to work with multimodality and new literacies when it concerns to teaching second languages. Besides, your students, not only just write, they have the opportunity to reflect and to critique about your topic. Once again congratulations George you did a wonderful job.

I liked your video very much. It is a way to introduce music in the classroom. Regardless the language we are teaching we can introduce different kinds of text to tackle the topics and have students involved in their own learning process. Music fosters motivation in the class.

  5. Jorge I think your video shows what we saw in Dr. Mora`s class because you used modes and your students put into practice what they had been learning during the process.Apart from that, I think you taught them relevant aspects such as values not only of our country but also the respect for the family and the importance of freedom.Fantastic job jorge.
