ML2 – Second Language Literacies

A blog for the Second Language Literacies course from the MA in Learning and Teaching Processes in Second Languages (ML2) at UPB-Medellín

multimodalities, virtual session two

According to NLG p 86 “overt instruction  help students develop conscious awareness and control about what is being learned”.

In my opinion this is a big component of autonomy and to be autonomous as student is really hard and is a long process.

Just overt instruction, critical framing and transformed practice, involve a hard and a long work that means a real evolution and a deep understanding of what we want and what we know, because to be able to use metalanguage , to develop critical or cultural understanding of language and literacy implies a really good work between teachers and students and a real comprenhension of the meaning of multiliteracies, and as I said before to walk this long way ,it is important to be most the times an autonomous student ,be creative and explore.
